Giving Back | Zutilla Pet Clinic: Veterinarian and Pet Clinic in Dalton, GA

Dogs die of heartworm disease all the time. The saddest thing about that is that heartworm disease is completely preventable! Unfortunately, there are dogs out there that aren’t getting the life-saving heartworm prevention they need simply because their owners can’t afford it.  That’s where we come in.

Zutilla Has a Heart is Zutilla Pet Clinic’s non-profit. A percentage of Zutilla Pet Clinic’s revenue goes to this non-profit, which is established to help provide heartworm prevention for pets in need.  Our desire is for a dog to never die of heartworms due to their owner’s financial situation.

During our event on August 24, 2019, we were able to provide heartworm prevention and rabies vaccines for 62 dogs in the community!

Our event on May 11, 2022 helped 55 dogs!

Update January 2024:

We will no longer be offering events to provide free heartworm prevention, but not to worry, because we have made it even easier for you to get free heartworm prevention for your dog! All you need to do is schedule an appointment with us at a time that is convenient for you. You will pay for your dog's heartworm test and then you can get 6 months of heartworm prevention for you dog for free. Please make note of the qualifications below.

Qualifications:

-In order to receive free heartworm prevention, you must present a valid photo ID and proof of being on government assistance (TANF, Social Security, Disability, etc.)

-Limit 3 dogs per family.
